RESIDENTS
This series was created during an artist residency at the school of visual arts in New York in summer 2010. I tried to find out what brought me here, but did not really manage to find it out by myself. Perhaps unconsciously, I turned to others to try to get this question answered, and started visiting fellow residents at their studios. This series of portraits of artists involving their artwork came thus into being.
While discussing with them about their work I learnt about the wide variety of aspects of life and society they dealt with, and how diverse the means were they chose to tell their stories. However, it seemed to me that my question remained unanswered.
But now, looking back at it, I see that there was indeed something all of them had in common, in a way, they were all looking for their own answers. Their artwork was just their means to address the issue.
